I have had in home care giving experience in the past, staying overnight for two nights from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday night when the ladies daughter returned on the ferry. My duties required basic daily needs ,bathing ,meal preparation, assistance dressing and walking with a walker, ensuring prescription drugs were taken as directed,some travel back and forth to Eastsound but not off Island.I did this for about 18 months ,it enabled the ladies daughter to continue working as a radio station host on NPR, I was paid $300. when Ruthie went to California to stay with family she fell and had to be hospitalised and there she subsequently deteriorated and died. This was 7 years ago, Ruthie and I got on really well and had a lot of fun together, I can get a reference if necessary, I got the job because another caregiver wanted to be paid the going rate and didnt want to have to stay overnight.!
